As leaders from all the world were meeting today to discuss ways ramp up Support for the nascent Federal republic of Somalia, hundreds of agitated protesters stood near where the Somalia conference was being held. needles to say the flags that were being waved, slogans on the placards, music and the lively chanting, are emblematic of the divisive politics in Somalia as things sand now.

Also present were members of the Djiboutienne diaspora, represented by the country’s biggest opposition party Union for National Salvation (USN). Opposition parties believe the presidential elections held in February this year were widely rigged, after the current President won a landslide majority.
